Practical Publishing
A little bit about Practical Publishing. They're a publishing company that specializes in art and craft magazines. They also own their own e-commerce site called 'Craft Stash' where they sell arts and crafts supplies. I interned here at both the editorial and e-commerce departments.
During my time at Practical Publishing, I learned a lot about the world of editorial design and e-commerce. Initially, I was tasked with simple things like removing the background on images. Then I was given more responsibility by being tasked with designing a cover page for one of their magazines. After that, I was then given a full section spread that I was allowed to work on.

On the left is a shopping guide page. Since I worked on the e-commerce team as well, I was familiar with most of these products which also helped me a lot when it came to designing. On the right is a single-page standalone design for "Stamping News", one of their editors.
This is a spread that I designed towards the end of my internship. The story for this was about knitting during the early 20th century.
I was then asked by my supervisor to re-design this page in any style that I wished without having to comply with their brand guidelines. This was just a bit of fun that he
